Khao Gaeng Jek Pui (Je Chie) ข้าวแกงเจ็กปุ๊ย (เจ๊เฉีย) is one of those Chinatown stops that just clicks. I came for the curry rice and ended up talking about the soup. Very good, clean-tasting broth, gentle warmth, a little depth that keeps you sipping. Curries are glossy and generous, rice lands hot, and everything tastes fresh. Staff move fast, smile often, and somehow keep things calm. The vibe is chilled too — plastic stools, street chatter, neon glow, no stress. Affordable, honest, and seriously satisfying. I’ll be back.

Definitely a must while in Chinatown in Bangkok! The currys are very good and flavorful, they taste like the real deal! Also the price is certainly unbeatable, 45baht per person, unreal.

A super authentic Thai curry restaurant, we've got a lot of recommendations on. The menu is very short, only 4 curry options and several optional toppings. We wanted to try as many types as possible, and since the prices are very low (only 45 baht for one dish) we decided to order 3 of the curry dishes they offer - beef red curry, pork yellow curry & chicken green curry. All of the curry types were great, but although we got the most recommendations on the yellow one, we liked the green curry much better. The food is freshly made every day, and has very authentic flavors, but there was more rice than actually curry stew in all of them, but considering the price it was still great VFM.

Love it very much. The food is so delicious. Everything is just nice, the chicken curry, pork curry and the sausage. And we just spent 110 Baht (for 2) . I recommend to come earlier. I came at 2.00 pm when they just open and we not waiting too long.

Not sure if I was too late for this. Wanted to come here for an earlier meal but only arrived around 7 and it was almost close to closing time. Was a bit worried it might be sold out but thankfully there was still curry available. Also not sure if I should be early because there only seemed to be 1 kind of curry left so there wasn't any option I could just order 1 plate and they tried to give me whatever that was left. Dining area is pretty unique cause you sit under the sheltered area and there are no tables, just plastic chairs scattered and you just have to find an empty one to sit and dine. Quite a different experience but I have to say the curry was a little lukewarm but it still tasted pretty good. I wasn't sure what was it but tasted like pork curry though I was hoping to eat some seafood curry or sort before I came here. Simple no fuss dining but the curry was flavourful and will definitely make a return visit. Hope to see more variety available next time for selection. Maybe was close to closing time, not many people but still a fair mix of local and tourists. The tourists were all brought over by tour guides and came in groups of about 10 people. Saw 2 groups here but seats are definitely ample.

I went there and it wasn’t too crowded yet, but you could ask for takeaway . Since it was raining, I ordered to go but ended up eating right there on the sidewalk . Many locals come to buy it too—it’s delicious and cheap ! Totally worth it. I only got one because I still had to try many other dishes . 9/10 for taste ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I run a travel agency in Machu Picchu and Cusco, Peru @dopkertravel. If you ever plan to visit Peru, just reach out—I’d be happy to help !

One of the best curry rice in Chinatown. They set up fair price not only for locals but also foreigners. One choice of curry with rice is about 45 baht. The curries are obviously Chinese-Thai style with coconut milk as the base. It has spicy, fragrant and rich taste. The place may be located in alleyway but it has became a local legends in culinary world
